Our Current Global Giving Circle Offerings

A global giving circle, the philanthropic equivalent of a book club, is a group of donors who pool their time, talent and resources to learn and make international grants together. This page lists our current public giving circle programs. Please contact us if you would like to start a global giving circle of your own!

The Traveling Giving Circle to Nicaragua 2008

We are excited to announce our upcoming Traveling Giving Circle to Nicaragua that we are offering this summer in partnership with the Central American Women's Fund. The Traveling Giving Circle brings together donors from around the country (and the world!) to engage in a special on-the-ground group giving experience.

This year's journey will be just a week long (including travel) from July 19-26. The focus will be on grassroots organizations working to advance rights and opportunities for women and their families.

The program will feature in-depth site visits and dialogue with grantees combined with excursions to enjoy the incredible scenery, food and culture of Nicaragua. Participants will have the opportunity to take one of two exciting journeys -- either towards the volcanic island of Omotepe in Lake Nicaragua or an adventure to the Caribbean coast. Along the way, you will meet extraordinary people doing extraordinary work while forming special bonds with other donors who want to make a better world.

Space on both teams is limited. For more information, please contact us.

Other Worlds Are Possible Giving Circle

You care about the health of our planet and its inhabitants. And you may already be engaged in bringing about a more just and sustainable world. At a time when the current global system has failed to create widespread social equity and sustain our natural environment, you may be seeking ways to do more. The Other Worlds Are Possible Giving Circle was created for you. We are striving to inform, inspire, and empower donors to discover renewed hope and a new approach to philanthropy that can truly transform our world. This innovative new giving circle program, scheduled to begin in the fall of 2008, is a partnership of The Clarence Foundation, Other Worlds and Grantmakers Without Borders. It will link activists and donors from around the globe via a series conference calls, providing diverse opportunities for engagement to match the interests of our members. Global Sojourns Giving Circle

The Global Sojourns Giving Circle is held via teleconference with its members spread throughout the United States. Its objective is to help participants pool their time, talent and financial resources to improve the lives of children and conserve wildlife in sub-Saharan Africa. Members make a direct, positive impact while learning about issues in the region, connecting personally with the projects, and forming community with other members. The projects currently supported by the circle are located in Livingstone, Zambia. The focus is on assisting care takers of economically vulnerable children (due to parents suffering or having died from AIDS) with income generating projects so they can afford to send these children to school. The next grantmaking cycle will begin in February 2008. For more information, please contact us.
